Community Based Programs

This program is an all-day event organized by a team of experts and volunteers from within the community. Fire-fighters, paramedics, police, doctors, medical staff and volunteers unite to reenact the consequences of a tragic incident. Together they lead the youths of their community (or communities) through the journey of an injury survivor. Starting from the original trauma or collision through the extensive rehabilitation process students are offered a realistic look at the impact of risky behaviours. Throughout this interactive program students engage in hands-on activities that allow them to experience the potential consequences of traumatic injuries. The realistic nature of the program is underscored by the testimonial of an injury survivor, often someone from their community.
